Antique silverplate serving or tablespoon in the CHINON pattern by CHRISTOFLE of France. Date code for 1845 in diamond cartouche. Bowl is pointed. Length 8-1/4 inches. Quite heavy. This pattern is referred to as fiddle and thread in England at this period. Marked with double C, scale, and bee mark, with plating number 60. Middle mark is a mystery. See photos. Good vintage condition with expected patina of use and age. A couple of small dings to the bowl edge. Has been polished with Wright's. -- no dipping.
